In the past few months, the world has definitely been turned upside down. Even in the midst of hardship and financial loss, so many ballet brands are finding ways to give back. Here are just a few examples!
Created by a professional ballerina with American Ballet Theatre, April Giangeruso, of Chameleon Activewear designs fun, bright, & bold leotards. Not only did this brand just release a new line of leotards but a portion of all proceeds go to American Ballet Theatre’s Crisis Relief Fun and Black Lives Matter. I definitely couldn’t resist and bought not one, but two leotards, including my favorite of their new releases: Sky’s Hunny Bunny.
This fan favorite is doing so many incredible things right now! They’re helping keep you safe by making a face mask that is available in both ready to wear and custom styles & colors. Also, for every mask sold a donation will be made to different organizations supporting dancers globally. Throughout this time, Elevé also has donated sales to: It Gets Better, BLM, and The George Floyd Memorial Fund. Lastly, this brand is taking the time to highlight dancers around the country with The Elevé Project.
Founded by sisters, Luckyleo is full of unique prints and one-of-a-kind designs. When quarantine started, they came out with a line of scrunchies& headbands and a face mask was donated to a healthcare worker for each accessory that was sold. Definitely check out their line of face masks, I now own the black and dusty rose, but they also have great prints like Sunflower & Cherry Blossom.
Rubiawear is known for its variety of warm ups and wraps. Durimg the month of June it donated 25% of all proceeds to IABD and Big Brother Big Sisters. They have created plenty of masks in adorable prints like Denim Patch and Swan Song. Rubiawear also made it easier to share some smiles with a collection of Postcards, they affectionately named Joy Cards, from which ALL proceeds were donated!
