As dancers we spend a lot of time under heavy stage lights with a full face of make up all the while performing our little hearts out. Though we currently all dying to get back to the stage, with virtual or in-person summer intensives going on, so many of us spend our days sweating! All of these things lead to clogged pores. But now we actually have the time to take care of our skin! So here’s my step-by-step skincare routine.
The first thing I do is wipe off all make-up with
After I have rinsed the mousse off, this might sound strange, but I actually grab a handful of baking soda! I swear by using this stuff, it’s super cheap, easy to find, and is a killer exfoliate ! Just take a small handful and get it damp, so it is the texture of wet sand. Scrub the baking soda on your face to remove any dirt or dead skin then rinse. Next, wash with Philosophy’s Purity Made Simply One-Step Facial Cleanser. This will wash away any of the baking soda you might have missed (haha) and condition the skin with natural oil extracts.
Tap your face dry and spray on some Mario Badescu Rosewater. Do not underestimate this stuff, the first time I started using rosewater I couldn’t believe how quickly I noticed how much smoother my face felt and how much more even my skin tone was. It hydrates and reenergizes those skin cells .
Now it’s time to moisturize! Grab Philosophy’s Renewed Hope in a Jar Moisturizer and apply it all over! Then I love to dab on Vaseline above, below my eyes , and on my eyelashes (I swear it will make your lashes grow to be super long & thick).
Lastly, right before bed put a small amount of Vitamin E Oil on you face. This a miracle worker! Over night it will help even skin tone, smooth skin, and reduce skin aging. So it’s basically a triple threat!
